Ter gelegenheid van de verjaardag van Koning Willem-Alexander organiseren we op vrijdag 24 april onze jaarlijkse Koningsdagviering. Na het grote succes van vorig jaar vieren we het opnieuw op de Nederlandse Ambassade. Op verzoek van velen gaat het feest dit jaar een uur langer door! Dus nog meer tijd om bij te praten, te dansen en te genieten op het feest dat ieder jaar vele Nederlanders en vrienden van Nederland uit de Washington D.C. regio samenbrengt.

Het wordt een avond vol gezelligheid. Er is een open bar, Nederlandse snacks en voor wie wil, een raffle met mooie (en grote) prijzen. De muziek wordt verzorgd door een live band en een DJ.

Ledenvoordeel & Early Bird

Leden van D.C. Dutch betalen een speciale ledenprijs en kunnen zich één week eerder inschrijven, zodat zij als eerste hun plek kunnen reserveren. Niet-leden kunnen zich vanaf 8 maart inschrijven.

Leden en niet-leden kunnen zich daarnaast vroeg inschrijven om te profiteren van een $10 early bird-korting en verzekerd te zijn van deelname aan het D.C. Dutch Koningsdagfeest. Early bird registratie eindigt op 4 april 2026.

In celebration of King Willem-Alexander’s birthday, we are hosting our annual Dutch King’s Day party on Friday, April 24. Following the great success of last year, we’ll once again gather at the Netherlands Embassy. By popular demand, the party will run one hour longer this year—more time to catch up, dance, and enjoy an evening that brings together Dutch nationals and friends of the Netherlands from across the Washington D.C. area.

Expect a night full of gezelligheid! There will be an open bar, traditional Dutch snacks, and for those who want, a raffle with great (and generous) prizes. Music will be provided by a live band and a DJ.

Op zaterdag 25 april organiseert De Nederlandse School in Bethesda, in samenwerking met de Nederlandse Ambassade en D.C. Dutch, een feestelijke Koningsdagmiddag vol Nederlandse tradities voor kinderen en hun ouders. Let op: dit evenement staat los van ons Koningsdagfeest op 24 april.

Het programma zit boordevol: doe mee aan de koningsspelendans, zing het Wilhelmus, speel oud-Hollandse spelletjes en laat je schminken. Op de vrijmarkt kun je snuisteren kopen en verkopen en bij de marktkraam vind je een selectie aan Nederlandse producten. Kom met honger want er zijn oranje cupcakes, saté, vegetarische hapjes en poffertjes.

Een mooie gelegenheid om samen met je kinderen te genieten van de Nederlandse cultuur en tradities. Trek je oranje outfit aan dan zien we je graag op 25 april.

Kids' King's Day

On Saturday April 25, De Nederlandse School in Bethesda, together with the Dutch Embassy and D.C. Dutch, is organizing a festive Dutch King's Day afternoon full of Dutch traditions for children and their parents. Please note: this event is separate from our Dutch King's Day celebration on April 24.

The program is packed: sing along to the Dutch national anthem, play traditional Dutch games, and get your face painted. Browse the flea market and stop by the market stall for a selection of Dutch products. Come hungry — there are orange cupcakes, satay, vegetarian bites, and poffertjes.

A good opportunity to enjoy Dutch culture and traditions together with your children. Put on your orange outfit and we look forward to seeing you on April 25!

Onze partner de Nederlandse Ambassade organiseert een speciale 4 mei herdenking in Washington D.C. Want ook ver van huis staan Nederlanders stil bij hen die vielen tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. De ceremonie omvat een kranslegging, twee minuten stilte en een receptie met lichte versnaperingen.

De Ambassade heeft D.C. Dutch uitgenodigd om namens alle Nederlanders in de DMV-regio een krans te leggen. Een grote eer en we willen jou hiervoor uitnodigen. Geïnteresseerd? Meld je aan vóór 28 april.

13:45 uur: Start ceremonie
Kransleggingen en toespraken
14:00 uur: Twee minuten stilte

4-May Remembrance

Our partner the Dutch Embassy is organizing a special May 4th remembrance in Washington D.C. Because even far from home, Dutch people pause to remember those who fell during the Second World War. The ceremony includes a wreath laying, two minutes of silence, and a reception with light refreshments.

The Embassy has invited D.C. Dutch to lay a wreath on behalf of all Dutch people in the DMV region. A great honor and we want to invite you to join. Interested? Register before April 28th.
